SAE 4140 Round Bar Supplier | UNS G41400 Chrome-Moly Alloy steel | AISI 4140 Forged Bar Supplier | SAE 4140 Bright Bar Manufacturer
AISI 4140 is a chrome-molybdenum high tensile strength steel. National Steel Industries is one of the biggest SAE 4140 round bars suppliers in India and worldwide. The material is free from any defects and can be provided in forged condition. We also supply premium quality AISI 4140h steel. SAE 4140h specification include additional hardness as compared to SAE 4140. Buy SAE 4140 round bars online from National Steel Industries.
SAE 4140 equivalent grade is AISI 4140. SAE 4140 UNS equivalent is UNS G41400. AISI 4140 corrosion resistance properties find its application in shipbuilding and the oil drilling industry to make gears, drills, shafts, etc. SAE 4140 hardness is high as compared to other steel grade standards. SAE 4140 is also suitable for low temperature uses and also cold-forged, and bright bars are made out of 4140 steel. We have ready stock material of AISI 4140 in sizes 20mm to 190mm dia.

SAE 4140 QT round bars and forged bars are also available of superior strength. AISI 4140 steel technical datasheet and SAE 4140 tempering curve data predict that the material can be performed with heat treatments such as quenching, tempering, annealing, and normalization. National Steel Industries provides SAE 4140 round bars which are tested for a variety of parameters and provided with a free material test certificate.
Mentioned below are SAE 4140 chemical composition and SAE 4140 mechanical properties:
SAE 4140 Chemical Composition
The Chemical Composition of AISI 4140 contains a carbon content of 0.38 - 0.43 %. The material has an Mn content of 0.70 - 1.00 %. Due to high carbon and manganese content, the material is relatively hard. The contents of P are reduced to 0.035 % and S is reduced to 0.040 % max as excess content of P and S can damage the quality of steel and can cause the alloys steel to break at low stresses. There is a high Chromium content of 0.80-1.10 % which adds additional yield and tensile on heat treatment. There is also a Molybdenum content of 0.15-0.25 %.

SAE 4140 Mechanical Properties
Compared to other grades of steel, SAE 4140 steel has high tensile strength. The AISI 4140 alloy steel is hard and finds application in hard machine parts. It has good ductility, extreme toughness, and good wear resistance in quenched and tempered conditions. SAE 4140 tensile strength ranges from 455-1598 MPa. AISI 4140 yield strength ranges from 338-986 MPa. AISI 4140 density is high. The Types of Heat treatment can vary the mechanical properties of the material. Strength Test, Impact Test, Brinell Hardness Test, Fracture Toughness, and Durability Tests are the tests that are performed by us on SAE 4140. The AISI 4140 physical properties are listed below:
